Weekend Reading: “Artificial Intelligence for Marketing” by Jim Sterne

For the 142nd episode of The Marketing Book Podcast, I interviewed Jim Sterne, author of Artificial Intelligence for Marketing: Practical Applications.

So why do marketers need to know about artificial intelligence? Well, it’s already playing a role in marketing. But we’re still in the early stages.

The author explains that artificial intelligence and the machine learning that fuels it offers so much power and so much opportunity that we’re in the same place we were with personal computers in 1980, the internet in 1993, and eCommerce when Amazon.com began taking over e-commerce.

Should we be frightened by artificial intelligence in marketing? Not at all, but marketers need to understand the larger role it will play. The author explains…

I believe there is a bright future for human marketers, but only if they take the initiative to learn about AI and how it can affect and improve their work.

A bit more about the book…
